Aretheon Advisory offers keynote sessions and staff development workshops designed to open those conversations by bringing together educational philosophy, sociological insight, and practical school experience to help teachers and leaders think more carefully about purpose, knowledge, and the pupils in front of them.

ABOUT
Aretheon Advisory was founded by Elliot Downing, an educator and researcher with over two decades of experience working in education alongside sustained academic study of education, childhood, and social theory.
Elliot holds a first-class honours degree in Childhood Studies and a Master's degree with Distinction in Education and Learning, both from the University of Birmingham. He is currently completing his doctoral research at the University of Sheffield, examining how parents' own educational experiences shape the aspirations and expectations they hold for their children, work that draws on Bourdieu's social theory and the lived experience of families navigating secondary education.
That combination of classroom practitioner, academic scholar, and active researcher is what makes Aretheon Advisory distinct. The work is not imported from a generic consultancy model. It is built from years of serious engagement with education from the inside: as a teacher, as a student of the field, and as someone committed to understanding the social and cultural forces that shape what schools do and who they do it for.
Aretheon Advisory exists because schools deserve access to thinking that is philosophically serious, research-informed, and grounded in genuine experience of education, not just of managing it.
